Saracens Cheer and Dance is a hub of recreational cheer and street dance classes for children aged 6+ years in Barnet and Hertfordshire. In classes we teach fundamental and innovative cheer and street dance techniques and skills as well as new and fun routines that will be showcased at the end of each term. Our aim is to provide a safe, innovative, and inclusive environment for young people to develop and widen their skills, to help young people progress and build a life-long passion for cheer and dance and gain understanding to lead healthy and active lifestyles. Our focus in classes is to improve physical and mental health in children and encourage them to meet new people and make new friends. We also help to develop students’ soft skills throughout their journey with us such as confidence, positive attitudes, teamwork, communication and create a safe and inclusive space for our participants to explore their creativity and grow as a performer.

Cheerleading

Classes are 1 hour and 15 minutes long and consist of a warmup, cheer focused games, learning motions and jumps, tumbling and stunting, learning a dance routine and a cool down (Stunts can only be performed when government guidelines allows us to do so). Cheerleading coaches change cheerleading skills and music in classes every couple of weeks allowing versatility keeping classes fun and engaging. All our classes are accessible and affordable with no need for any prior cheerleading experience. Classes are also a safe space for young people to build social bonds with children with similar interests. Allowing participants to make new friends whilst learning within classes is encouraged.

Street Dance

During the year, we host a number of events for cheerleaders, dancers and their families to attend such as Saracens Cheer and Dance Festivals, Stadium Performances (previously performed at StoneX Stadium, Wembley Stadium and London Stadium), Saracens Foundation Quiz Nights and many more…

Our classes are socially distanced for the duration of the class and have health and safety measures in place to keep yourselves and others safe from COVID-19. We ask that participants wear masks on arrival and on departure of lessons and sanitise or wash their hands on arrival and departure of the class. Participants can wear masks or visors for the duration of the session too. Teachers will wear visors for the duration of the class. We also ask that minimal belongs are brought to class to reduce spread and we do allow soft drinks to keep hydrated.
