2019 has finally arrived and the turn of the year means many things to many people, however, here at the Saracens Sport Foundation, this means a brand new HITZ course is prepped and ready to go.

The HITZ project is an award-winning Premiership Rugby led initiative which looks to reengage 16-24 year olds who are Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEETs). The 13-week programme offers Functional Maths and English, issue-based sessions, and an emphasis on improving employability skills, specifically through access to work experience. By the end of the programme, the participants should be on their way to 100 hours of work experience on their CV with a clearer idea of how to reach their potential.

The HITZ project tries to facilitate work experience in sectors of interest to the participant and which will add value to their CV. Previous participants have done work experience within the E-Sports sector, Sports Operations and much more. If you’d like to hear more about one of our previous participants, check out David’s story!

The January HITZ course will be, once again, based in the fantastic Colindale Learning centre with tutor Kevin Baker and HITZ officer Hal Sparke and kicks off on the 21st of January. There are still spaces available for the course, so get in touch now to avoid disappointment.

If you are interested in being a part of this programme, know someone who could be, or you wish to get involved in the HITZ support network, then please get in touch with Hal. Call 07521 505 409 or email halsparke@saracens.net
